Community Faith 2018-19—an overview of roles and responsibilities

Parishioners and Community members

  •  Pray for our parish community and the success of Community Faith
  • Welcome to attend any Community Faith sessions throughout the year

Enrolled Family expectations

  • 30 minutes of work each week; bi-weekly check-in with Program Director
  • Attend once a month Community Faith gathering, perfectly timed for Mass attendance
  • Volunteers for a variety of roles and participates in parish activities

Faith Partner

  • Prays for a specific family or two
  • Develop a friendship with partner family over the course of the year
  • Welcome to attend Community Faith with partner family

Faith Facilitator

  • Participates in planning lessons and activities for monthly Community Faith gatherings
  • Helps facilitate monthly Community Faith gatherings

Program Director

  • Matches Enrolled Family groups and Faith Partners
  • Bi-Weekly check in with Enrolled Families, and Faith Partners
  • Collaborates with Faith Facilitators for planning and running monthly Community  Faith gatherings
  • Directly supports and provides resources to Families, Faith Partners, and Faith Facilitators
  • Ensures Diocesan policies and curriculum are being followed

Sacraments:  Under the New Policies for the Diocese of Rochester, candidates for sacraments must be registered in a faith formation program or Catholic School for one full year prior to beginning preparation. 

 

First Reconciliation is now celebrated before First Eucharist, beginning in 2nd grade, and Confirmation preparation is a two-year process that begins no sooner than 8th grade.
